In his latest effort, the Police Department will be deploying the FACT Duty Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC) to departments firearms. Somerville Police Chief, Jake Sullivan’s goal since taking the position back in October 2020 has been regaining the trust of the community. I got to take a look at the new technology coming to the department and what this means for the community as it relates to officers deploying their service weapon. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated she left her apartment and when she returned, her laptop was stolen.Ģ2065271: On 11/14/22 at approximately 12:38 PM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Sewall St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the property manager who stated two male parties broke into the common area and stole several packages.Ģ2065103: On 11/13/22 at approximately 1:21 PM, Somerville Police took a report from a victim who stated while in a parking garage on Artisan Way, an operator of another vehicle accelerated toward him then stopped just short of striking him.Ģ2065004: On 11/12/22 at approximately 9:15 PM, an individual entered the station and reported that earlier in the evening while in the area of 349 Broadway, a male party approached him and stole his bicycle.Ģ2064617: On 11/10/22 at approximately 6:31 PM, Somerville Police responded to an apartment complex on Canal Lane for report of a past breaking and entering. Both parties then began loading the truck up with stolen items.Ģ2063881: On 11/7/22 at approximately 11:16 AM, Somerville Police responded to an apartment complex on McGrath Hwy for report of a past breaking and entering. A U-Haul truck entered and a female party exited. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the superintendent of the building who stated a male party forced entry into the building then proceeded to the garage where he opened the garage door. Officers recovered a small axe and a knife from his person.Ģ2064517: On 11/10/22 at approximately 10:10 AM, Somerville Police responded to an apartment complex on McGrath Hwy for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated someone broke into his garage and stole items out of his scooter bag.Ģ2065006: On 11/12/22 at approximately 9:52 PM, Somerville Police arrested a male party for armed burglary and larceny following an incident in which he broke into a residence on Walnut St. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the owner who stated the front door had been pried open and cash was stolen.Ģ2064417: On 11/9/22 at approximately 7:56 PM, Somerville Police responded to a residence in the area of Broadway & Packard Ave for report of a past breaking and entering. Jewelry and cash were stolen.Ģ2064300: On 11/9/22 at approximately 9:58 AM, Somerville Police responded to a business on Medford St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the owner who stated the rear door had been forced open and the store was rummaged through.
